Bored

I am so bored today. Even taking a nap is so boring. I was trying to entertain myself, browsed the net, watched TV, read books but to no avail. I was told by my doctor to rest but now I become restless. I want to go out! Even just for an hour. But my hubby's lazy to go out, too. Now, I am mad!

So, I'm back to blogging. I am tired and I don't want to but what can I do? I was thinking of making opps if there's an offer but there's none. I am tired of reading gossips, news that only discussed bad & unfortunate events and I am in no mood to chat. I've almost memorized the profiles of my friends and other people at facebook, too. Ok, at least I am blogging...

I know I am whining over nothing here but I am entitled to this kind of feeling once in a blue moon. I love to stay home but I also love to go out. That way, I can balance my life. But since it's my doc's order until I become fit & ok, oh, what a drab.. I've to heed her advice. Hope I can find something productive now. Maybe I'll just eat, even though I am not hungry...sigh :-(

Katherine Heigl

I love Katherine Heigl. I first noticed her pretty face on Prince Valiant movie. That was shown years ago and she was not famous at that time. She starred in some movies but she rose to fame when she played Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens in Grey's Anatomy. Honestly, I got hooked watching Grey's Anatomy because of her and not of the lead character, Meredith Grey.

Soon, she starred in some feel good movies that made her more famous and sought-after star in Hollywood. Anyway, as I browsed the net earlier today, I saw a pic of her where she had a wardrobe mishap. But despite the embarrassing scene, she was able to pull it off and was able to continue her speech, thank goodness for Billy Bush (host for the event) who came to her rescue by holding the strap behind her.

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

My daughter loves to watch adventure or magical movies. In fact, she's a great fan of Harry Potter films. She also likes Twilight although some of the scenes frightened her, she just covered her eyes (or ears) with both her hands. Lately, she enjoyed watching Alice in Wonderland that she wanted us to go to the cinema and watch the movie over and over again. Then, she saw a trailer of Percy Jackson & the Lighting Thief and she was too eager to watch it right away. Well, we have our own copy so we don't need to go to the cinema anymore ;-)

Last Friday, my husband, daughter and I had our family movie night. However, when Medusa's face appeared, she went at the back of the couch to hide. She said she's scared of the snakes in Medusa's head. But even when she was hiding, she stole glances and tried to look what happen to Medusa out of curiosity. The following night, I was surprised to hear from her that she wanted to watch Percy Jackson again. It made me even surprise when she watched it all by herself while I was busy attending house chores and my husband's busy with his own business. She later told me that she was not that scared anymore because she was trying to be brave... uhuh? Anyway, for those of you who didn't watch Percy Jackson movie yet, here's the trailer for you to enjoy:

Remembering Corey Haim

I was really surprised to know from a friend that 90's heartthrob Corey Haim died. I've never heard of him for a long time but I went on to search the net about him anyways. According to reports, he died of accidental overdose. However, it was found out that he developed a flu-like symptoms 2 days earlier. His body was sent for an autopsy to confirm the initial finding and result will be made public in a few weeks. He died March 10, 2010 at California.

I tried to recall the movies I've watched where Corey Haim starred. I was very young when I've watched his movie, Lucas, where he starred with Winona Ryder, Charlie Sheen. I think he had a huge crush on somebody older than him and Charlie Sheen was the boyfriend and Winona Ryder was trying to befriend him. Well, I could not vividly recall that movie anymore... He also appeared in The Lost Boys movie and I really love that film! I could never forget the tag-line of that movie - "Sleep all day, party all night". Gosh, I love that vampire show! He also appeared in another film, License to Drive. I've not watch his other movies anymore and not heard of him but he was one good actor. It's just so sad to know that last I've heard of him, he finally rest in peace. If he indeed died of accidental overdose, what a waste! But we can never know when our time is up. Now, I could only offer a prayer for his soul...

Buy Pets Online

Are you a pet lover? I know a lot of people love to collect various kinds of pets be it a canine, feline, sea creatures and others even kept wild or exotic animals with them. And when you decide to get one, do you always buy it online or go directly to a pet shop?

Some people like taking care of unique species like hermit crabs, etc. They find this pet friendly and kids usually love to take care of them. If you want to Buy Hermit Crabs Online, make sure you have everything checked. In fact, it is preferred that you purchase them at the pet store where you can buy them alive, healthy and active. You can also check its shell inside for mites because health is the number one issue here as they can infect other crabs in the aquarium. The disadvantage when you buy hermit crabs online is that you can’t take necessary step in your hermit crabs' health. Another disadvantage also is that you don't know how your hermit crab is safely shipped to your doorstep. So, before you purchase any pet, be sure to know the guidelines, the disadvantages or advantages or simply the pros and the cons.

Abandoned

I visited my cousin's house last Sunday... I checked on her kids because my cousin was trying to look for a greener pasture in another place. She has 3 kids, all of them boys, aged 8-11 years old. A housemaid was left to watch over them. I pity the boys, my nephews, because I think they felt abandoned. Their mom, together with their stepfather, accepted a new job in another city and left them for work (the offer was irresistible, they say). Their mom just got married last year so, I would say that the boys grew up without a father... Anyway, in life, you can make several choices. My cousin, although torn and sad, needs to earn a living to support her kids. But I hope she did not sacrifice her 3 kids. She could have looked for a job here...
Thru the housemaid, I've learned that the kids cried at night and when they talked to their mom on the phone, they cried buckets of tears. Poor boys...

Lately, I've heard that they did not go to school. They were not motivated and rather stay home to play games on Facebook. I couldn't really blame those kids. I want to blame my cousin but I do understand her reasons for accepting a job away from home, too. Sigh...

Custom Framed Design

I love art and I appreciate people who are very creative. When I had my daughter, there are so many things that I wanted to keep in a beautiful way. My daughter has plenty of pictures and she's also very good in sketching. I kept most of her drawings hoping to find a better way to treasure it. Then I read from one site that they make custom picture framing. What they do is interesting and will surely keep stuff forever beautiful.

The site offers frame design and framing services. They guarantee to thoroughly enjoy the process of conception through completion like if you have one very special piece of fine art, a child's first drawing, recognition awards for the staff or VIP's, or a shadowbox collection of great grandma’s possessions is possible for them to do.

Their goal also is to enhance, not overpower, the art and to do it all at a cost that fits your budget. To be certain every project receives the attention it deserves, they also work by appointment.

Their collection of design tools also includes the following: Frame style, Mats, Liners and Fillets, Glazing and Art Protection, Many Mirror Possibilities, plus the tools and skills necessary to make it all work together for you! For details, I suggest you visit their site and learn for more!

Yummy Hot Fudge

The heat of the sun is killing me. Yesterday, I was totally knocked-out because I had a head cold and my skin was slightly flushed and it hurts a lot every time I tried to swallow. Good thing that my husband took a leave of absence to take care of my daughter (who must go to school because it's their exam week) and me. I am not that type of person who relied on taking medicines, which is kind of ironic because my profession is in line with medical field, so I just had my water therapy. I asked my husband to massage my back and my joints, too, by using some liniment. I woke up this morning feeling glad that I felt better and I was back on my usual routine.

But the weather is still hot and after I fetched my daughter from her school, I was craving to drink a very cold soda and my daughter asked for a Sundae ice-cream at Mcdonald's. Wow, what a great way to obey our cravings so off we went. I ordered two hot fudge because it was really yummy. We had our lunch there and went home fully satisfied with my body feeling cool afterwards :p

A Journey To Fatherhood

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Raising a Father. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you read Arjun Sen's book Raising a Father? If you haven't, I recommend that you should. It is a story about how a father learned a lot from his daughter. For many years, he was busy in his corporate world until one day, he realized he doesn't know his daughter at all. He gave up his job and spent time raising his daughter. My husband also shared his views about fatherhood. Most of the time, I am the one taking care and spending most of the time with our daughter. I can't blame him because he needs to work to provide our daily needs. But there were really times that he was guilty for not giving quality time with our child. There were some activities that he missed because of his work. He just tried to make it up on weekends or whenever he is available.

But one time, when he was at home because he was on leave, he shared to me that he was also learning from our daughter. I also agreed with him because children not only learn from their parents, parent also learned from their children. That's why, it's also necessary for us to listen to our kids, too. Communicating with them is a two-way interaction, not only one way. We have to open not only our eyes but our minds as well. And just like Raka, Sen's daughter from this book, I believe that my daughter's charm, patience, love, and caring nature taught her father how to be a better dad and person. Check out Raising A Father video shown below and learn something out from it!

Free Sample For Sale?!!

I was quite busy browsing the net, making entries for my blog, reviewing my daughter for her exam tomorrow when suddenly, somebody was knocking outside. I don't usually entertain but the stranger's voice was so loud and it was kinda irritating so I asked him what he wanted. He was bringing a sample of tide bar/powder detergent soap. He apologized for the disturbance and told me he wanted to give me a sample of their promo. I was about to get it when he told me that I need to pay before I could get their sample... DUH! As in DUUUUHHHH??!!! I told him, "is this a joke?". But he instead told me that theirs is cheaper while I'll have to pay more when I'm going to buy it at the store. I was not really that stupid. Tide may be good but there are also other soap that meets my standard with a much cheaper price, too. I returned their sample and told the man not to bother me with his so-called promo anymore...

For Our Eyes Only

I used to wear eyeglasses before because of my 75/50 vision with astigmatism. I was near-sighted, too. Later, my vision improved and I stopped using glasses because I also felt old and uncool. However, just recently, I experience throbbing headache and I cannot concentrate reading books for a long time. I even refrain from using the computer for a long time because it gets blurry, too. Then, I decided to see an optometrist and told me that I still have astigmatism and recommend that I really need to wear eyeglasses again.

Now, as I was browsing the net, I saw a great selection of eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. Their prescription eyeglasses costs only $8.00, bi-focal eyeglasses costs $25.00, progressive eyeglasses about $34.00 and premium photochromic lenses (clear indoors, darkens in bright light) costs $27.00. You can have it upgraded, too!

And if you order with them, shipping & handling is only $4.95 regardless of quantity. And with every order, you also get to receive high quality stylish frame, thin and light 1.57 index lens, anti-scratch coating, full UV protection, lens edge polishing and beveling, quality hard eyeglass case, and microfiber lens cleaning cloth. There are lots of great frames to choose, too! So, why don't we try it?!!
