Apollo 18

This is the new poster released for Apollo 18. This movie will be shown on September 2, 2011. This is based on a true story, about the 2 astronauts sent secretly on a mission to the moon. Although NASA vehemently deny this happened, but others insisted that it was true and some of the captured pictures were shown in this film. Watching this movie will make everybody believed why it was decided not to send man to the moon after this incident.

Well, I have no idea yet on what's to happen in this story but all I'm sure of is that this is a story about astronauts sent to the moon. Having read the plot, it made me want to watch this movie, to better find out what's going to happen and what's all this hullabaloo about this film. It better be good, I must say. I'll review on this again after seeing the film...

Amy Winehouse is Dead!

Amy Winehouse was found dead Saturday at her home at Canden Square, London. She was 27 years old. Cause of her death was still unknown but she was known for her bizarre behavior, beehive hair and rehab stints.

She was dead before 2 ambulance was sent to the scene. Amy became famous for her Back to Black album released on 2006.

We'll soon find out what caused her death but in my opinion, I guess this was due to drug overdose. It was just so sad to know that she died at an early age. She could have lived longer if she was not hooked on drugs, if she practiced self-discipline, if she tried to help herself but oh well, maybe it was also her choice no matter how other people tried to help her. I hope others learned a lesson from her. So much of life ahead and if you're down, hooking to drugs is not an answer... for it can surely kill you. Anyway, rest in peace Amy...

Charlie Sheen Got Fired

Well, sometimes, we get what we deserved. Just like actor Charlie Sheen who was fired from his own show, Two and a Half Man. The big bosses thought Charlie Sheen's attitude to be unbecoming and his dangerously self-destructive conduct made them decide to fire out the actor. The star has another legal battle to face, too. With his ongoing divorce of wife, Brooke Mueller, and the custody of his children, he is indeed in jeopardy and hope he could fix his life and come clean again.

It was said that Sheen was fired out thru text message thus made the actor furious. Sometimes, we must know that life is not always a bed of roses. People will get tired if you don't listen to them over and over again. Although everybody deserved a second chance, just make sure you behave and do well next time... (image source: click the pic).

Christina Aguilera Arrested

Pop Diva Christina Aguilera was arrested for intoxication together with her boyfriend. She was said to be extremely intoxicated or unable to take care of herself that she was booked for public intoxication. Sheriff said she will not be prosecuted and even described Aguilera as cooperative. Different case went to her boyfriend, who was charged but was able to bail himself out.

Way back Aguilera's Whattagirl Wants days, I am a fan of hers. She has a great and powerful voice. Then, she reinvented herself. She looked different. But in my own opinion, she didn't need that the mere fact that she has a talent. Later, she lied low a little, got married and had a child. But late last year, she and her husband divorced. Worst, her album got poor sales on the market and her movie was a flop. I guess this girl has been thru a lot that she badly needs help. I hope she will not follow the footstep of Britney Spears of Lindsay Lohan. I still love Xtina. I love her voice! But I hope she will surpass all these trials and behave... Are You Ready For The New Superman?

Guys, meet Henry Cavill - the new Superman!
I've watched the last Superman movie starred by Brandon Routh and I don't know the reason yet why he's being replaced. Perhaps it has something to do with age as Routh is now 32 and Cavill is said to be on his 27th...
I've read and heard a lot of different reactions and comments from other people. They were questioning why Cavill was picked and why not Routh continue being a Man of Steel as he is almost a mirror image of the late Christopher Reeve. Others were even saying that Smallville's Tom Welling deserves to don the red cape and blue suit.

Anyway, before we judge Cavill, let's give him a chance. I've googled his profile and browsed the wikipedia to know more about him. He's good looking after all, if he only removed his mustache. Sure he's wavy but that doesn't count, okay? The people in charge of searching a new Superman must have seen something in him that we don't. The casting director knew it better than us. So, better for us to just support him or watch his upcoming movie, The Man of Steel, on December 2012. Let's just give our opinion or judgment on his acting or his being a Superman after we've watch his movie ;-)

Danica Flores Magpantay is Supermodel 2011

Lucky, Lucky Girl! 17 year old Danica Flores Magpantay of the Philippines won the 2011 Ford Supermodel of the World title. Her prize is a whooping US$250,000 and a contract from Ford Modeling Agency.

Modeling already runs in this girl's blood as her mom used to be a model in the early 80's. She has a sister who is a model, too. When Danica decided to become a model, her family was supportive of her, even her dad. This girl is about 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighs 109 lbs. She is said to be a newbie in modeling but her persistence and eager to learn personality paid all her hard work. She's looking forward to be one of Victoria's Secrets model.

First runner up of the said contest went to Miss Lithuania, who received US$150,000 and a modeling contract. And the second runner up went to Miss Poland who received US$100,000... (image source: click the pic)

Taylor Swift Mania

It's been a year ago that Taylor Swift was lambasted by Kanye West on the stage at the MTV award. Eversince, West was not forgiven by the fans and other people who watched the show for his arrogance, ignorance and bad manners even though he asked for an apology many times.

In his blog, West said that he has paid his price very well because advertisers closed on him, he had low sales tickets for his concert that he decided to cancel it and he was not able to renew his contract to the company of the product that he endorses. He was indeed a sore loser last year that even Barack Obama (they say) was heard calling him a jackass. Well, I guess he really paid the price the hard way. As for Taylor Swift? Well, she's been enjoying the success of her album, concerts and tours everywhere. She gained a lot of followers (that includes me) and her popularity is unstoppable. She's even seen at the movie and has released new songs, too. So, way to go Taylor!

SALT

Another movie that I am looking forward to watch is the Angelina Jolie-starrer, Salt. If it's an action film, I'm in for it, no doubt! I'm not really a big fan of Angie and I don't hate her either. I just love some of her films especially if it's an action-thriller movie. Her personality is so strong, too, that her portrayal is very much convincing. Right now, Salt is being shown in North America and I feel this movie will fare well in theaters.

Jolie plays a fugitive in this film after she's being accused of being a KGB agent. I've learned also that initially, the movie film outfit considered to get Tom Cruise to play the lead part but totally changed the script when it was replaced by Jolie.

Well, if the story is great combined with good casting and performance, I expect this film to be another blockbuster on Jolie's film... (click picture for image source)

Natalie Portman as the Black Swan

One of the young actresses that I really admire these days is Natalie Portman. For me, she's brilliant, so, it's no question why she is being tagged today as the future Jodie Foster as her acting has substance and not just Hollywood's some pretty faces. I first saw her as the young sweeper or protege of Leon the professional. At that age, she was already noticed by the film critics and people for her fine performance. I've seen her several movies as she grew up like Starwars, where she played as Queen Amidala. She even had her hair shaved in V for Vendetta because she wanted to internalize and be believable for the role that she played. Her acting was very convincing in The Other Boleyn Girl even though I hate the outcome of that movie. Her latest film that I am looking forward to watch is the Black Swan where she portray the role of a ballerina. Knowing Portman, she love to play a role that is unique. I guess her character in here is a little bit rebellious... well, that's as far as I know. One thing is for sure, I'm gonna watch her show. (click the picture for image source)

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

Another movie that I am looking forward to watch. I know November is still very far away but I am such a big fan of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books that I can't wait for this movie to be shown. Actually, the video below is the first part of book 7, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. The second part will be shown next year. I would love to watch them at once but since the story was too long and the director, producers don't want to alter or remove important part of the story, thus, the parts 1 & 2. I will not complain about that anymore because I also wanted the movie version to give justice to the book. Enjoy watching the video below ;-)

Toy Story 3

Haven't watched Toy Story 3 yet but hope to watch this one of these days with my kid... or perhaps I will just wait for the DVD version. I saw the trailer and it sure was hilarious. I especially like the scene where Ken met Barbie for the first time. I've watched the previous Toy Story movies and so far I was really entertained. Even adult people like me still like watching comedy or animated movies just like this one. It releases stress and it's also one way of enjoying a quality moment with your family especially the kids.

Nicole Scherzinger Wins Dancing With The Stars

I don't get to watch Dancing with the Stars show but I do get some updates here on the internet. Now, finally, the battle is over as Pussycat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger was crowned as the winner and took home the mirror ball trophy. Of course the credit also goes to her dance partner Derek Hough.

It was said that the duo were already crowd favorites. But I never doubted Nicole's dance moves as she was really good in dancing. I've seen her music videos where all of her group's songs were danceable and she was really good on it! To Nicole, congratulations. You deserved it girl!

Megan Fox Out In Transformer 3

So, Megan Fox is out of Transformer 3, eh? Some speculated that she was axed from the 3rd installment after she made harsh comments to the movie's director, Michael Bay, by comparing him to Hitler. Her rep said otherwise that it was Fox's decision to dropped out on the 3rd film.

Michael Bay, however, dismissed any of the rumor but instead said that it would be good for the film's main character, played by Shia LaBeouf, not to have any romantic interest in the movie so that he can focus in his heroic deed.

True or not, such a waste for Megan Fox. T3 gave her the biggest break ever. If not for this film, maybe until now she would still be an unknown trying hard starlet. I just hope that whatever is her plan, she will succeed. But if it is true that she became swellheaded, then good luck. It takes a long way to be in the same league with Angelina Jolie.

Robin Hood (2010)

I can't wait to watch Robin Hood starred by Russel Crowe. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, I can't go out right now and watch this on the wide screen. I guess I will have to wait for a DVD copy on this film.

The story of this legendary hero has been retold plenty of times but I know in every film, they made a unique story. Plus, this 2010 film is played by Russel Crowe who, in my opinion, is a very good actor. I've seen his performance in LA Confidential, Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind and I really admired his acting.

Going back to Robin Hood the movie, well, I've read different reactions from critics and movie-goers who've watched this film already, and everybody is entitled to their own opinion. But what matters most is my own perception of this film. And for me, this movie is worth watching!

Grey's Anatomy Season Finale for 2010

I missed a lot of Grey's Anatomy episodes. I used to watch this show before and got me so hooked. But when I started missing out some episodes, I've finally decided to stop watching. Now, I've just heard about their Season Finale for 2010. I am actually curious what will happen in the end, so, I guess I'll have to see the episodes I missed to catch up with the story, huh...

But one thing is for sure, for next season of Grey's Anatomy, there will be no more Dr. Isobel "Izzy" Stevens. Katherine Heigl announced that she's done with G.A. and will now focus on her family and perhaps, movie (?). I will surely missed her character. But everybody must moved on. I still wish for the success of this show. Anyway, McDreamy and McSteamy are still there, right?

Ricky Martin's Promo Video

I was very young when Menudo band was very popular. Ricky Martin already stood out at that time. When he came back to the entertainment world in the 90's as a solo performer, I had a huge crush on him. His songs were great, too. After his Livin' la Vida Loca days, he seem to vanish into thin air. I seldom heard about him until his sexuality was questioned by many. I had suspicions already the mere fact that he was not involved with anybody. But I was on denial. I then learned that he had twin sons via artificial insemination (pls correct me if I'm wrong, thnx!). I thought he was the sexiest daddy but at the back of my mind, I asked why did he opt to have a surrogate mother while he can have someone as his lifetime partner and have plenty of kids? But last month, he finally revealed his true self. Well, we have to respect him and for his decision to finally come out in the open. He's still human and as long as he does not harm anybody, what right do we have to judge him? Anywhere, below is the video I've seen from youtube. It is his promo video on his upcoming world tour. I guess he was trying to give us a message that he was really struggling within himself...and when he finally revealed his real self, it seems to be that he was re-birthing himself..

Katherine Heigl

I love Katherine Heigl. I first noticed her pretty face on Prince Valiant movie. That was shown years ago and she was not famous at that time. She starred in some movies but she rose to fame when she played Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens in Grey's Anatomy. Honestly, I got hooked watching Grey's Anatomy because of her and not of the lead character, Meredith Grey.

Soon, she starred in some feel good movies that made her more famous and sought-after star in Hollywood. Anyway, as I browsed the net earlier today, I saw a pic of her where she had a wardrobe mishap. But despite the embarrassing scene, she was able to pull it off and was able to continue her speech, thank goodness for Billy Bush (host for the event) who came to her rescue by holding the strap behind her.

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

My daughter loves to watch adventure or magical movies. In fact, she's a great fan of Harry Potter films. She also likes Twilight although some of the scenes frightened her, she just covered her eyes (or ears) with both her hands. Lately, she enjoyed watching Alice in Wonderland that she wanted us to go to the cinema and watch the movie over and over again. Then, she saw a trailer of Percy Jackson & the Lighting Thief and she was too eager to watch it right away. Well, we have our own copy so we don't need to go to the cinema anymore ;-)

Last Friday, my husband, daughter and I had our family movie night. However, when Medusa's face appeared, she went at the back of the couch to hide. She said she's scared of the snakes in Medusa's head. But even when she was hiding, she stole glances and tried to look what happen to Medusa out of curiosity. The following night, I was surprised to hear from her that she wanted to watch Percy Jackson again. It made me even surprise when she watched it all by herself while I was busy attending house chores and my husband's busy with his own business. She later told me that she was not that scared anymore because she was trying to be brave... uhuh?
