Farewell, Brittany Murphy...

Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy died on December 20, 2009. She apparently collapsed in her bathroom but firefighters still tried to revive her. She was then transported to Cedars Sinai Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival due to cardiac arrest. This is really sad to hear especially that Brittany's only 32 years old. She was best remembered for her role in Clueless, 8 mile, Girl, Interrupted and she also lent her voice as Gloria the penguin in Happy Feet. May you rest in peace, Brittany...

Alice In Wonderland

One of the movies that I will definitely watch next year is Alice in Wonderland. Johnny Depp starred as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as White Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Check out the latest trailer of this 3-D adventure movie. Enjoy watching!

We Have A Visitor

We will be having a visitor this afternoon, my brother just informed me. Our visitor is actually my brother's ex-girlfriend and she happened to be very close to our family. His ex-gf is now based in Illinois and she worked as a nurse. She's a doctor in her homeland, too. We thought they would end up together, despite witnessing their petty quarrels and bickerings but they finally parted ways after 4-5years of being together. However, her friendship to our family remains and I even got her as a godmother for my daughter. She married later but she and my brother remained friends.

My brother also married few years later. In all fairness, his wife is nice and very down to earth. My family is actually blessed to have in-laws who are supportive and caring especially to our mom.

Things may turned out differently for my brother and his ex-flame but it's great to know that the friendship remains. My brother is happily married (& with kid) and his ex is successful in her field of endeavor.

My TV Options

A lot of people are using Direct TV because it brings the very best satellite dish system for their home and gives them total control over how they receive and watch great satellite TV programming.

Directv also offers more value than cable television because it offers the best packages and features, too. And you don't even have to worry if you are planning to move to another state because there's Direct TV everywhere.

If you are from New York and will transfer to California, you can have your local channels in your area available thru Direct TV in California. Make sure to include your zip code also and everything's ready right before you.

Chicago

I love this movie very much! I've watched Chicago for over three times and I'm planning to watch it again. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere were superb in the characters they performed and I've to include Lucy Liu, too, even though she had a small appearance in the film.

Chicago is a story about two girls who were put behind bars because of the murder they committed. But these two warring ladies were trying to get media attention and trying to outdo each other. They were both vying for the miss popular title.

Anyway, Chicago is a musical-comedy story plus check out Richard Gere's great tap dance moves!

Platform Beds

We are about to move out and we are quite busy packing our things. But since our place is currently bare right now, my family and I are temporarily staying at my mom's place. My mom is generous enough to accommodate us in her room however, we could hardly to fit in her bed. It's a nice bed actually but since there are three of us sleeping in her double size bed, it was a bit crowded. Back in our place, we have two beds because the other one is not so sturdy. We were thinking of acquiring platform beds that we found while searching the net.

This bed features cutting-edge contemporary European designs, elegant modern bed frames, upholstered headboards, clean lines and simple construction. They also have exclusive collection of Italian and European designer. It's also guaranteed that their authentic platform bed collection is manufactured in Europe by original designers.

However, at present, this is just our one of our plans. We still have to prioritize things and when everything's settled, then we will think about that again.

But in case you are interested to know more about platform beds, feel free to visit their site, too, and I assure you that you can chose a lot of great beds just right for your bedroom!

Amanda Knox Verdict

I've read this news on the net awhile ago and I can't believe what this young lady had done. Amanda Knox, an American College student, and her Italian ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were found guilty for stabbing to death her roomate, Meredith Kercher, a 21-year-old student from England.

Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison and Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years. The two also were found guilty of sexual assault to Meredith Kercher.

I don't know exactly how I would react to this story. It's really hard to judge but after reading this article, I guess all I can say is that how these young kids wasted their lives. If they were indeed influenced by drugs, I hope other people will learn something out from this. They should see the effect on drugs and I guess it's also necessary that parents should see that their kids are at the right company.

To know more about this story, please refer to CNN Justice. You can read how the trial went and how the verdict was read to the accused.

Torrents Search Engine

Watching TV for me these days is a luxury. I hardly had time to watch television because I need to attend to my household chores first before anything else. I would love to watch some shows but I just can't keep up. In the morning, I need to prepare breakfast for my family, drive my kid to school, clean the house, wash or iron clothes then prepare lunch and in the evening, prepare dinner, take care of the things needed for my family and review my child's lessons. At some other time, I need to go to bank then pay our water, telephone and electric bills. I think I barely had time for myself.

Going back to my favorite shows, I guess I've missed a lot of episodes like Smallville and Grey's Anatomy. There were some great movies that I was not able to watch, too, but I'm glad my husband found one site that is very helpful. At torrents download, he was able to get from them some shows or movies that I missed. And I am so thankful because I was able to watch it at my own convenience.

If you experienced the same kind of dilemma, I suggest that you go to their site and you'll have everything you'll need!

Harry Potter

I've read Harry Potter books volumes 1-5 few years ago but I've finished reading volumes 6-7 just recently. Out of these 7 books, I only owned 5 (volumes 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7). Much to my regret because I can hardly find these books in any bookstore. I wish somebody out there would lend me their copy of 3 & 5 as I want to read them again. Don't worry, I'll return it intact and dust-free :D

J.K. Rowling is really a good story-teller. Her book, Harry Potter, entertained me so much that I read my old HP books again. I hope to pass these books to my daughter when she's old enough to read and understand the story.

I've watched the movie version of Harry Potter, too. So far, the 1st 5 films were great but I was a bit disappointed with the 6th installment. They've changed a lot of plot and they focused more on the love story of the teen-age wizards. I hope that there won't be too many changes in the 2-part finale of HP7 especially since it's the most anticipated movie in year 2010/2011.

Raising A Father Book

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Raising a Father. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of my favorite pastimes is reading a book. If you've noticed, I love featuring some of the books that I've read and I tried to share my opinion or views, too. Lately, I browsed the net and found another interesting book to read. The title of the book is Raising a Father, authored by Arjun Sen, and I really hope to own a copy of this.

After reading the summary of this book, I got carried away. It talked about a father's journey to understand and learn about his daughter. It also took him 37 years to realize that he did not know his daughter. So, he quit his job and began his journey as a real dad. The father was really busy from his corporate job and his young daughter used her charm, patience, love, and her caring nature to train her dad to become a better father and a better person.

Personally, I have good relationship with my deceased father. And for those whose father is still alive or whose father is estranged to them, I recommend that you try to read this book. I believe that you will learn something out from it. Most especially to the busy fathers out there, I highly suggest that you grab a copy of this, too. The presence of a father really matters to the kids and I will never forget the line said in one of the movies that I've watched that "a child without a father is like a house without a roof".

Here's Raising A Father Book trailer by Arjun Sen. Enjoy the video!

Just An Update

I was quite busy lately that I was not able to post entries in my blog. I wish I could write about the Grammy Nominees for year 2010 but I guess some of you already heard about it. Even the scandal that surrounds Tiger Woods or news about the 3rd installment of Stephenie Meyer's 3rd book installment, Eclipse, is already a passé.

Anyhoo, I hope to post few entries today and hope to bloghop and visit my friends' great blogs as soon as I'm not so tied with my current day to day activities anymore.

And oh, I just can't believe it's already December! And I haven't thought any preparation for the holidays yet. Oh well, I guess I still have 2 more weeks to worry so might as well focus my activity for the day.

Thanksgiving Day

Every fourth Thursday in November, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving day while in Canada, they celebrate it every second Monday of October. Thanksgiving is their way of Thanking God for all the abundance and blessings their country has received. But history said that the First Thanksgiving in USA was celebrated to give thanks to God for helping the pilgrims survive the brutal winter. (image source: click pic)

Anyway, I was just thinking that what if all countries will have Thanksgiving, too? They can celebrate it in any other day or month. Despite the calamaties, poverty or even the cruelty that had happened in some countries, I believe there are also good things to celebrate. We should give thanks to God for the protection, the graces and the blessings we received each day. It would be a great way to give back all the glory He has bestowed upon us... This is just my opinion ;-)

Uninvited

I was reading some news on the net and this article caught my attention "Couple slips though security to crash state dinner". I can't believe the security wasn't that tight at the White House. These couple, Michaele and Tariq Salahi, came from Virginia and the former even said in an interview before how "President Obama has made it very accessible for anyone to visit the White House, so that's like a big thing right now".

The Security Service are now investigating how these couple were able to crashed the State Dinner to think they were not on the guest list and nobody even invited them. However harmless, I think White House should be more careful in scrutinizing all their guests to prevent unusual happenings in the near future.

Great For My Home

One of the things that I find not so appealing in our house is the kitchen sink. I’ve always wanted to have a clean and organized kitchen because it is where we prepare and clean our food. Since we are to transfer to another house by next month, I'll make sure that our kitchen sink is easy to clean and have unbreakable construction and will not chip right away.

I found one great site while surfing the net that offers the things I needed for home improvement. You can see different Undermount Stainless Steel Kitchen Sinks and Bar Sinks in there and I think I will opt for their Double Sink and Kitchen faucet.

Their undermount kitchen sinks are easy to maintain and easy to keep clean plus they provide a smooth transition between countertop and sink. They are also popular as they are compatible to any type of kitchen design, cabinetry or lay-out. What's more is that they are very affordable, and come in various shape, styles and sizes that would definitely match your kitchen needs. They also offer a wide variety of high quality undermount stainless steel sinks at wholesale prices to the public.

If you want to know more details about Stainless Steel Kitchen sinks, visit their site at www.sinksusa.com.

Monster Mom

I don't think I was able to go back to sleep early this morning. I went back to bed around 4:30 am and was still very much aware of my surroundings. I forced to close my eyes until I finally decided to go downstairs and prepare breakfast around 6:30 a.m. But due to heavy rain, my 6 year old daughter was still at bed but her dad woke her up. She ate her breakfast around 7:30 and was not yet finished until 8:25 to think her class starts at 8:45! And I still need to give her bath! I was fuming mad already and what made it worst was that she started to vomit! I was already scolding her, she was crying. I became a monster mom and how I hated it!!! I hated myself for hurting my child's feelings especially before going to school. I hated it everytime I do this to her because I knew deep down in my heart I love her so much.

I was thinking of not letting her go to school anymore but I think that was so unreasonable. I drove her to school and got there exactly on time. But before I left, I told her how sorry I was and hugged her tight. I wish to bring her home with me, my heart ached so much of what I've done...

When I arrived home, I was crying. I felt terribly bad and my conscience was killing me. What was wrong with me? How I wanted to slap my face so hard for scolding my little girl. She's my happiness, my life and my everything and how dare "me" for hurting her just because she was taking much of her time and puked on her food. I pray that when she's old enough to understand, she will forgive me and but know also how much I love her.

As of the moment, my mind is with her. I pray she's ok at school and that she won't be scolded by her teacher or quarreled by her classmates because I think that will be too much for her this day. Dear Lord, please help me look after her... I pray everything's alright with her. I wish to stay with her at school but I can't. After posting this, I'll be packing our things again. So dear Lord, I'm begging...

I Can't Sleep...

I slept very early last night only to be awakened in the wee hour of the morning because of a heavy rain and so I decided to go to the bathroom to pee. When I went back to bed, I could no longer go to sleep. I've decided to continue packing my things and then read a book so that I would doze off again but to no avail. My daughter also woke up and told me to turn off the light and sleep because it was already late. I tried doing so but more than an hour had passed and still I could not go back to sleep. So, finally, I went downstairs and here I am, blogging. I'm kinda irritated already so might as well do something to distract me coz I've had negative thoughts coming while I tried going back to sleep. So, I guess it's better this way...

Weight Loss Procedure Abroad

I've known a lot of people who wanted to lose weight. They have taken every measure like taking diet pills, perform extreme exercises or simply skip their meals.

If you have a problem with your weight, there's a site that can help you about weight loss procedures abroad. One of the procedures is called Lap Band Surgery. This surgery is placed around the stomach and is inflated to allow only a small amount of food to get through the stomach. Some people are confident about this procedure because it is reversible when the weight is lost and doesn't involve the use of staples or sutures.

The cost of lap band surgery in the US averages from $14,000-$25,000. In Mexico and other countries abroad, the price starts at $5,000 and goes up to $7,000 all inclusive.

Sweet Valley High

Sweet Valley High was one of the popular books read among teenagers. The book was generally classified as young adult or kids' fiction.

I happen to read this book and was not at first interested. But my friend wanted me to borrow her collections and forced me to read it. Well...it wasn't so bad at all. I think I got hooked for a few months but stopped later coz I've to study!

Sweet Valley High revolved around the lives of the twin sisters, Jessica & Elizabeth Wakefield, their friends/classmates and their family. It was a typical teenage story like what usually happen at school re friendship, jealousy, trust, misunderstanding, etc. There was also a TV series based on this book but never got the chance to watch it. SWH started publishing their book in year 1983 and the last book they published was in year 2003.

New Moon: The Movie

New Moon will hit theaters on November 20, 2009 and I'm definitely going to watch this movie. It may not be on that day because a lot of people might watch it, too. I want to get the best seat and see up close and personal with Edward Cullen so, might watch it days after. And this is a great way for me to unwind and relax from my busy chores, too... See you around folks!

Tired and Agitated

I woke up with a terrible headache today. Despite that, I have to prepare breakfast for my family, give my child a bath before going to school and see to it that my husband got everything he needs before going to the office.

After I drove my daughter to school and I came back home tired and agitated. My hands were trembling and I need to calm myself down. Instead of lying down to rest, I've decided to pack our many things in our bedroom alone. I put my daughter's toys inside the box and some of my books, too. I've realized that I need plenty of empty big boxes because we have a lot of things. We are going to transfer by the end of this month and it's so hard if I do this alone. I asked my husband if he could take a leave comes Friday to help me segregate and pack necessary things.

I've packed about 5 boxes only and there are still loads of things in our house. Moving out is really this tiresome...

Manny Pacquiao Wins By TKO

I am not much of a sporty person but I am happy to know that Manny Pacquiao won by TKO over Puerto Rican's Miguel Cotto, Saturday night at MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas. The Filipino fighter, tagged as Mexicutioner, is now the new Welterweight Champion.

As what yahoo sport writer, Kevin Cole, described about the fight: "Pacquiao knocked Cotto down once in the third round and again in the fourth, pummeled him repeatedly and easily lifted the World Boxing Organization welterweight belt from the Puerto Rican with a 12th-round stoppage. The time was 55 seconds into the final round, as referee Kenny Bayless leaped between the fighters to save Cotto a more savage beating and ignominious end".

After the fight, the crowd were asking that Manny's next opponent will be Floyd Mayweather. I wish him luck but as of now, let me just say my congratulations to Manny Pacquiao.

Smallville Season 9

I'm a big fan of Smallville. Never missed a single episode from seasons 1 - 7. However, in season 8, I've managed to watch about 5 episodes only. I didn't quite like it anymore when Kristen Kreuk, who played Lana Lang, was not included in the cast anymore, although in some episodes she appeared as a guest star only. She's one of the big reasons why I got so hooked watching this show (and the other one is Tom Welling). But guess I've to accept the fact that Clark and Lana were not meant for each other...

Michael Rosenbaum, the one who played Lex Luthor, didn't return to Smallville season 8, too. He was a good villain and a very convincing actor. But now am thinking to finish the whole episodes of Season 8 (yeah, I had a copy for some months already) so that I can proceed to the next...

And I hope that season 9 is interesting now that they included Wonder Twins in the cast.

Taylor Swift: CMT 2009 BIG Winner

I'm very happy to know that Taylor Swift won the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award, the youngest entertainer to ever win this. She also won in the categories of Female Vocalist, Album of the Year for Fearless, and Music Video of the Year for "Love Story." It was indeed her night.

Thank goodness, nobody spoiled her moment that night as she was able to finish her thank you speech.

Dad In My Dreams

I had a dream early this morning. I dreamt about my dad. He was very much alive and was talking to me and to my mom. He was very healthy, too. I woke up and I tried to recall what transpired in my dream. But what I only remembered was he was putting blanket to my mom who was sleeping. He was talking to me but I don't know what was that all about. This wasn't the first time. I dreamed about my dad many times. Some were funny and some were somewhat, weird.

It was nice seeing him in my dreams...at least, I got to talk to him & felt like he was alive.

I miss dad...

Love to taste different cuisine from different countries? I would surely want to do that but not everything is available in our restaurant. You can even hardly find necessary ingredients at the grocery! Mistress Of The Game

I'm a big Sidney Sheldon fan and one of my favorite books he authored was Master of the Game. It was the best story I've read ever complete with remarkable characters, dazzling plotting, and a page-turning narrative style!

Bless his soul, my favorite author already died but his books live. I got hold of Mistress of the Game more than a month ago and hope that the story would be as compelling and breath-taking as the prequel.

Other Sidney Sheldon books that I love to read are: If Tomorrow Comes, Rage of Angels, Naked Face, The Other Side of Midnight. I've read his other books, too, and they were also great but the ones I've mentioned were my favorites!

Halloween Costume

Halloween may be over but I can still see costumes being displayed at the mall these days. The great advantage now is that these costumes were sold with big discounts. I guess some people wouldn't mind buying it for the next year's use.

My daughter has plenty of costumes because we bought her a new one each year. She had a fairy costume, Little mermaid costume, Vampire, Princess Belle, Wizard, Angel, and a lot more but most of them won't fit in her anymore. She grew up so fast that some of her costumes were worn only once. This year, however, I told her that I will not buy a new one and use the old costume instead during their Halloween Fun Day. She didn't agree at first but after a lot of convincing, she finally conceded.

Recalling the incident two years ago, my daughter used to be very scared just by looking at the scary looking costumes and masks. Once, I had a hard time getting her out of the store because she was so frightened looking at the displays on the stalls. I almost lose my patience until finally, the female guard helped me to get her out. I could not imagine ourselves being stucked in there for the whole day!

Now, it's quite ironic that she preferred to look scary just like her classmates. She even wanted to buy the ghost costume but I declined for I find it so simple and I could not see her face, too. But I have to admit that it was fun looking at her donning different costumes.

Still, I am thinking of buying her a new one right now after I found Indian Lady Halloween costumes at the net. Their displays looked good plus it's for sale, too! Guess I'm going to avail it!

Nobody by Wondergirls

Nobody by Wondergirls is a very infectious song. The 4 Korean girls really captured a lot of attention as they performed this song with cute dance moves and steps. I've heard this song few months ago and the beat really made people do the groove. However, due to its popularity, radio station played this song over and over again, and then it got very irritating.

It was almost annoying to listen to this song a hundred times a day! But when I saw my daughter danced to the highest level when she heard this music made me kinda amused.

Well, I guess I've just got to admit that I still like this song, only hoping that the radio jocks will minimize playing this song in one day.

Beautiful

I love perfumes and colognes and I have plenty of collections. One of my favorites is Jessica McClintok's spray perfume because I love the scent. It's not bad for the nose to smell unlike Eternity where the scent is so strong.

Other scents that I like are Esteé Lauders' Pleasure perfume and Victoria Secret's Pretty and Pink Body Splash. But my most memorable perfume is Beautiful because it was my husband's first gift for me when we were still lovers. I love to use it during parties and special occasions. True to its name, the perfume made me feel beautiful inside and out!

Berlin Wall

Today, November 9, 2009, marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. I remember I had a German penfriend before who was older than me. She sent me a picture of her and on her back was the historic Berlin Wall. Since I was still young, I didn't quite get it why there were vandalism at the wall. My friend was pretty though, I just didn't like the dirty picture...

(L) East Side Gallery; (R) West Side 1986: Graffiti art on the wall's infamous "death strip"

Later, I finally understood the story behind the Berlin Wall. The Fall of Berlin on November 9, 2009 made history after 28 years of holding the country's citizens. It also ended communism in Europe. Recently, Economist referred the event as "still the most remarkable political event of most people's lifetimes."

Let's Be Fair!

It's nice to meet friends in the blogosphere world and I love reading their blogs, too. I am also hoping to increase my blogger friends but maybe soon because I hardly bloghop these days as I'm up to something.

Anyway, some bloggers dropped by in here and asked me to add their link to my site and promised that they would include me in theirs, too. It was nice meeting 'new friends' so of course, I added them and it felt good seeing my blog on their lists, too. However, few weeks after, some of them deleted my blog link. Maybe they accidentally erased it? But I've sent them messages informing that my link was missing. Some responded and others did not...Solution? I deleted their blogs, too. Sorry, but I want it fair and square here.

Some people in my bloglist may not have included me in their bloglist but twas okay with me. Tt was my decision, after all, to include them and they didn't ask me to do it. Besides, they were my personal friends. But for those who came here and asked me for exchange links, please be fair with me. Thank you.

Duplicate Remover

I generally save a lot of document files on my laptop. I do it so frequently that I don't even bother to check if I'd already saved a specific file once before. As a result, a lot of similar files have been building up. Same goes with my mp3 collection and it's just too time consuming to delete them one by one. Are you experiencing this kind of dilemma, too?

Well, while browsing the net, I tried searching for a free program that could help me with this problem. I happened upon a website named moleskinsoft.com which had developed this small shareware utility called Moleskinsoft Clone Remover which can delete duplicates in itunes.

Moleskinsoft Clone Remover is system software that finds duplicates files and removes the duplicates of a file from the computer. Users of Windows and Windows Vista will find the program simple yet productive and at least enough to completely clean their iTunes library.

Clone Remover works by finding duplicate or non-existing music or video files quickly. The links in iTunes library can be sorted and displayed according to the search options. Each duplicate music file can be removed from the hard drive together with its link in the library. Files deleted by the duplicate remover are saved in a system folder, from where they can be removed or restored again. You can visit the site to learn more about how this system works.

Love Me, Hate Me

Sometimes, I am a person with a halo but in some other times, I'm a dark angel... and I despise it!

I may be relieved in expressing my negative thoughts to somebody else or being brutally frank to others who needs to look at themselves, but deep inside me, I am not proud of it. You see, I have conscience, too, and I'm always trying to make amends with my mistake.

It's just that, at times, it's so hard to control myself and my acerbic tongue especially when my ego is hurt (and when I'm under-stressed, too!).

I've wished to be labeled as a good person but it's just so hard to play good girl all of the time.

PDF Search Engine

Few years ago, reading books online was hard to do and was very limited. You have to browse lots of sites just to find the book that you wanted to read plus a pdf format was not readily available, too. I personally wanted to own a hardbound book but some of them were impossible to find at the bookstore. But with the rise of computer technology these days, everything are easily found via the pdf search engine. Downloading online is very accessible, too, and would only take a few minutes as long as you know the title, its author and have an extract of the book. Surely, reading book is much fun and convenient these days!

New Moon

Can't wait to watch this movie on November 20, 2009! I'm a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer, thanks to her Twilight series book! I just can't get enough of Edward Cullen-Bella Swan story. Added excitement in this upcoming movie, New Moon, is Jacob Black and the pack of werewolves.

I'm also curious how the Volturis would look like in the film. Will they be a cold and eerie as described in the book? I will find that out surely on November 20!

Play It Like Joe Satriani

My brothers are good guitar players and so is my husband. Unfortunately, I am not like them. I knew how to strum the guitar though and I can read the chords but I can't play without the chords. I am not good in oido either and I don't know guitar picking and plucking! I so envy them. Well, at least I still know how to play ;-)

My older brother collected albums of some great guitar players like Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai to name a few. I once listened Joe Satriani's Surfing with the Alien album and I so love the tune of Always with Me, Always with You. He was really good! I showed it to my then bf (now my husband) and he liked it that up til now, he kept playing it with his electric guitar!

Anyway, Joseph "Satch" Satriani is an American multi-instrumentalist, known as an instrumental rock guitarist. Early in his career, Satriani worked as a guitar instructor, and some of his former students have achieved fame with their guitar skills e.g. Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett, Charlie Hunter. He is currently the lead guitarist for the supergroup Chickenfoot (source: wikipedia).

Sharing to you the video of Always with Me, Always with You via YouTube. Enjoy the music!

Public Safety Control

Going to the mall has always been one my favorite pastimes and most of the time it's always crowded. Usually, as we enter, security personnel at the entrance would inspect us and our belongings, which is okay for me. Safety first, right? It's also good that the malls are now putting up Stanchions or Velvet Rope which are primarily needed for crowd control.

If you're wondering where you can get such gadgets, Camelback Displays has a wide array of products you can choose from. They offer the largest variety of trade show displays on the market and you can even have it custom-made. Other products made available by this company are the safety barrier, pipe and drape, room dividers, retractable belt, barricades and a whole lot more. If you own a business that caters a lot of people, this will surely provide you with your public guidance needs.

Agitated

I'm very tired today. I did a lot of household chores and attended my daughter's needs, too. We actually had a house help last month and I thought she was heaven-sent. At first, I was a bit apprehensive to hire her when I learned that she was already 56 years old. She said she wanted to work so she was hired. In all fairness, she was quick to learn that I don't even have to repeat things over. She had her own initiative and she was polite, too. Her only condition was to allow her to return home every end of the month and promised to be back the following day - so off she went last week... She did return to us 3 days after but not to resume with her work but to formally inform she was quitting. One of her kids don't want her to work anymore and of course I can't blame her. Some good things never last...

...so, in other words, I was only able to rest with my household chores for only 1 month. Today, I was so busy cleaning the house, washing clothes, taking care of my kid (which is my priority!), cooked food, clean the bathroom, iron clothes - whew! Plus I'm the driver, too! Don't you think this was too much?! I drove my kid to school, I drove my husband to his office and I drove my mom to the banks! I tried to refuse but then my conscience was killing me, so I ended up doing them favors. Another relatives came late afternoon and asked me so many questions which I was tired of answering. Of course they can't blame me if I was already ranting. I was exhausted and very much drained and I hope they realize that not because I stayed home, I have less to do. My health was even up to no good a couple of months ago. Gosh, I am so tired right now that I wish to be in a place where no one can reach and see me just for one day... Just one day to give me a break!!!

Frustrated

I'm quite frustrated these days. I've mentioned before that we were looking for a new place to stay. But my husband's family owned another house and they wanted us to stay there. However, somebody's still occupying the place so we were told to wait until they can transfer in a month or two. Soon, we found out that they asked to extend their stay, probably until January, February if possible, next year. Now, we are the ones who are in trouble as the house we are currently living in is already fully paid by the new owner and they are even planning to have it renovated. My in laws told us not to worry because they also asked the new owner to allow us to stay until January 31st!!!

Honestly speaking, I'm not happy with the development. I kept telling (almost nagging actually) my husband that we'd better find another place to stay. You see, twice, the new owner checked our place from living room down to our bedrooms... I dunno how to say this but i somehow had had an odd feeling because we belong to a different denomination. I'm not criticizing them but I just felt that their ways might be different from ours. They might think we begged too much to stay here to think they have big plans for their new house, too...sigh...

What's frustrating, too, is that I also have plans in my life, plans that will benefit my family. But I can't do it right away because I need to pack all our things (which is plenty, by the way) and keep them in place before I do anything else! I just can't walk away with it! I'm so disappointed! And I just can't help murmuring over my frustrations these days! If only I have enough money to build a house right away but I don't! Damn this life!

The Rescue

My daughter and I went to the mall this noon and ate our lunch there. And before we went home, we dropped by at my favorite bookstore and checked for something worthy to buy. While my daughter already chose what she'd like to buy (Dinosaur Opposites :D), I was debating which book to get since I only intend to buy 1 book. The Deception by Dan Brown or The Rescue by Nicolas Sparks? It took me several minutes to decide until I finally settled for the latter. Is this a good book to read? Did I make the right decision? Because I've got a feeling that one of his characters will die in the end --- very Nic Sparks' ways (remember Message in a Bottle? A walk to remember? etal). Whatever is the outcome of the story, still, I guess I won't regret buying this book for I bought it for a very cheap price ;-)

Ivanka Trump Weds

Beautiful daughter of Business magnate, Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump tied the knot to American businessman Jared Kushner on October 25, 2009.

27 year old Ivanka Marie Trump is a businesswoman, socialite, heiress and also a fashion model. She also joined her dad's business wherein she is an Executive Vice President. Such a rich person, eh?

I posted Ivanka's wedding here in my blog because I found her wedding pic so irresistible. It was captured beautifully and perfectly. I love her gown and her hair, too. She and her husband is really a handsome pair. And just like any other newlyweds, I wish them all the best!

Almost Mine

Last week, somebody sold to me a two-tone bracelet. It was cute and it really looked good on my wrist. So, I was tempted to buy. She left it to me and told me that she will text me the exact amount later. Well, I found out it wasn't cheap (around $447!). I yearn for it, love it and thought of passing it over to my daughter when she grows up. It's a good investment. But a part of me told me to return it since I don't need it this time. We are planning on a family trip some time next year. Plus, we're on house hunting, too (remember pepper?). If I'm going to buy the bracelet, I'm the only who's going to enjoy it. If I chose family trip, at least all of us will enjoy...

No choice, I returned it...sigh.. If it's for me, it's for me. If it's not, then it's not meant to be. Or maybe, it was at the right hand at a wrong price...

Edward Scissorhands, etal

Some people love to watch scary movies... well, I don't! I'm not a big fan of horror movies unlike my husband who is very much updated with those kind of movies. I want to watch and enjoy a movie show, and if possible, laugh!

Anyway, I know people has different taste so might as well leave them and mind my own. One time, my friends invited me to watch Nightmare on Elm's Street (Freddie's Back or Dead?--whateveh!) and I swore never to watch any Freddie installment anymore. I am more into suspense or thriller and action films but not so much with horror movies. But I admit I've watched a few horror movies and enjoyed some but it was still my least favorite.

Well, if there's a movie that I would like to watch again especially on a Halloween night, perhaps it would be Johnny Depp's Edward Scissorhand. This movie was shown years ago and I remember to have enjoyed it. Another would be fantasy films like Legends or Return to the Oz (Wizard of Oz) coz I totally forgot the story, hehehe :D

Kanye West Death Hoax

I thought it was true that Kanye West died but it turned out to be a hoax. Whoever made this very nasty joke?! And although I don't like to hear about his death hoax, I still can't forgive him for insulting Taylor Swift when she received her MTV award a month ago. I'm a big fan of Ms. Swift and she deserved to get that award. Mr. West should understand that it was the people/fans who voted for her and the reason why she won.

Taylor Swift's not only a talented singer but a good composer, too - and not to mention how well she knew how to play musical instruments!...

We're Moving Out

9/24/09

We're having a major change maybe next week or in less than a month. Ok, we're moving out and we're already scouting for a new place to stay. We expected this to happen but not too soon but what can we do? We live in an apartment owned by my husband's grandparents but is actually for sale. So, I hope we can find a decent, affordable and peaceful place to stay as soon as possible.

10/21/09

Well, I thought we are about to move out but all is vague up til now. I don't know exactly when we are going to transfer because of so many unavoidable circumstances. But one thing is definite - we are really moving out!

Teacher's Day

GOD MADE TEACHERS . . .
Author Unknown

God understood our thirst for
knowledge, and our need to be led
by someone wiser;
He needed a heart of compassion,
of encouragement, and patience;
Someone who would accept
the challenge regardless of the
opposition;
Someone who could see potential
and believe in the best in others . . .
So He made Teachers

Teacher's Day was celebrated in our country last October 5. And even though today is already October 13, I still wanna greet them a Happy Teacher's Day!!! Thanking you also for instilling in us knowledge. You've been a part of our lives because it was from you where we've learned a lot (from reading, writing, singing, solving, etc.). And for that, we shall be forever grateful.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month or National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. NBCAM is also celebrating 25 years of awareness, education and empowerment this October, 2009.

I am asking/urging all women (and men) out there to support and spread this campaign, too. You can click the pink badge and get the html code if you want to put this on your site. Let us help each other to be aware of our health. And remember, early detection is the best prevention of breast cancer. Let's also eat a well-balanced diet and live a healthy lifestyle!

Lucy Vodden

Who is Lucy Vodden? She was the woman referred in one of the Beatles' songs Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. This song was so popular before but it gained controversy, and I guess it was also banned, because of the supposed reference to the drug, LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide). The Beatles denied this allegation and John Lennon explained to the media that his son, the young Julian Lennon, showed him a drawing of Lucy in the sky with diamonds and Lucy and was actually Julian's classmate. The group decided to use it as a title to their new song.

Anyway, Lucy Vodden suffered from the immune disease lupus and died last September 22, 2009. She was 46 years old. She may have died but she will always be remembered as the girl who inspired the one time favorite and popular Beatles song.

Long Lost Friend

Last week, I was elated to find my long lost friend thru Facebook. I was actually been searching for her in the past few months, but to no avail. So imagine my excitement as I opened my FB account after I received an email that she invited me to be her friend. She was my best friend in grade school. Actually, it was kinda odd that we became best buddies. She was quite maldita while I was naive. Almost everyone in our class was intimidated by her presence but I got no choice because our teacher had assigned me to a seat beside hers. One time, she told me that if two friends bickered but made peace after, it means to say that they really were best of friends. I didn't get it right away because in the first place, I didn't really consider her to be my best bud :D...

One day, she stopped talking to me. I didn't even know what was going on and what was wrong with her. It lasted for a week. After that, she gave me an apple mango and told me that from then on, we were best of friends, hehe.. So childish (but we were) and so I had my first best friend.

Later, however, I transferred to another school in another city and we kept in touch through writing letters. Sometimes, we tried contacting each other using our dads' antenna/aerial radios (walkie-talkies were very popular at that time). A few years later, I returned and was very eager to see her again. But my mom enrolled me to another school. It didn't matter though coz we lived in the same city again. At one time, she visited me at my house and I was so surprised to see how tall she had become. It was quite intimidating, you know, hehe. It gave me a stiff-neck (guess she was about 5'8 compared to my 5'4 frame). Anyway, it was quite odd. I had returned but we didn't get to see each other often.

After I graduated from high school, I enrolled in one of the Universities and we crossed paths again. Although we took different courses, we always took the time to talk and ask how we've been. Gosh, she was getting taller- my neck hurt! - I told her that actually and she just laughed. She was also very, very pretty-- stunning, actually. Standing next to her, I was plain and ordinary, ugh!

Our last conversation was when she told me she was going to continue her studies and would probably live down south for good. After that, I never heard from her.

But thanks to FB, we found each other after many years. At least now I know that she got married already, has a pretty daughter and is on the family way. I guess Social Networks really offer a lot of advantages. It may be discouraging for some but in my case, I am amazed. It's such an easy way to get reconnected with long lost friends :)

It Comes in Threes

They say that when you're feeling happy or feeling down, it comes in threes. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the latter. Don't I deserve a little happiness here? Okay, I'm waiting for the other worst things to happen so, c'mmon, I'm waiting!

We are having some problems that we are trying to solve. Actually, we can solve it by ourselves but we need to sacrifice many things. But that's okay, as long as the decision was mutually done and I was included. However, some people were trying to butt in and I was only consulted when everything was finalized. Okay, I don't think consulted was the right word, maybe informed(?!).

I appreciated that some of these people were trying to help, but most of the time, almost all of their decisions were being followed. What am I? A post? A wall? That was why I felt like we were spineless, like we have no backbone. These people may be happy but I'm not! It's frustrating. Why am I such a loser? I really felt helpless and as if I was at their mercy most of the time. I'm so pissed off I can't even think of anything sensible thing today. Oh, I'm blogging which is good, I guess, but still I'm whining and ranting my misfortunes over here! Can anybody at least break this chain? I've had enough jinx in my life!

The Kite Runner

I'm not a TV addict and that's why we don't need cable. But sometimes, I get the urge to watch something on the TV and hope there's a good and sensible show as I'm so critical of the actors' acting, including the extras.

We were in a hotel one time and I was browsing the cable channel for a good show. I switched to MTV, V-Channel, AXN, Discovery channel but I got so bored so I checked on HBO. I didn't understand the language, it was a foreign film but there was a translation. I wondered which country was featured. I then concluded that it must be in Turkey after the little boy called his father 'baba'. But then I thought maybe the middle eastern people all call their fathers Baba. I tried switching to other channels but I kept going back to HBO. I was curious about the life story of these 2 little boys, Amir and Hassan, who used to be best of friends and who loved to fly kites when they were small, but suddenly their friendship faltered because of one incident. Later in that show, Amir and his father escaped their country because it was invaded by Russians, and they ended up living in the U.S. of A. Good, they finally speak English. My husband joined me later and wondered why I was watching such a show. Then, he told me the story was familiar. He remembered having read the book, until he got it: The Kite Runner authored by Khaled Hosseini.

I won't go into details about the plot of the story but it was very touching. It gave me a glimpse of the life of our muslim brethren, how they suffered such humiliation by their own race (courtesy of the Talibans) and it made me understand their culture, too.

I was moved by the story especially of the father's love for his son. And the grown up Amir trying to resolve the betrayal he had made to his best friend. It has a good ending, the kind of drama that I really appreciated watching.

Breathe!

I'm a little bit irritated today because of one phone call. Some people are so tactless, thoughtless and as if they have the power to let you do things in a snap. Yeah, okay, go ahead, you're always right. No wonder some people couldn't stand you. I'm trying to be polite but it can't be helped that I sometimes explode. Good thing I kept quiet this evening while conversing on the phone (I was actually controlling my every nerve). I wonder if I should go on with my motto, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I used to be very vindictive and I might do this to you if, heaven forbid, I can hold no longer.

Undecided

I've been buying books lately even though I don't have leisure time to read them right away. Now, I've decided to start reading at least one of them but I got confused which book will I read first. Undecided, I ended up not reading to any of them, hehe. My husband took the privilege of being the first one to read my new, unscathed, unopened books.

Guess I'll just continue watching the DVD shows which my friend lent it to me a few months ago (so that I can return it to her, too). Gosh, even in DVD's, I can't decide which one will I start watching first, hehehe...

Migraine

Throbbing pain, it's pulsating, it made me dizzy. It aches, it hurts, it made me wanna puke, and it's numbing my head... That's how I felt every time I'm having migraine. I had it this afternoon. This usually happens if I'm expose to extreme temperature (extreme hot or cold).

A dose of medicine would usually help me, but sometimes, I use a liniment to massage my head but a good sleep or nap is alleviating, too. I took the latter and woke up feeling refreshed. Glad I had my strength back, energized and feeling great.

It's really important to take care of our health, especially that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Only You My Friend

I've been searching for a lyric of this song. This used to be one of my favorite songs during my teenybopper days. I thought it was Jamie Rivera who sang this song but found out it was a certain Maria Muriel. Big thanks to the one who uploaded this on Youtube (link: click HERE). I've tried writing down the lyrics and hope I did it right.

Only you my friend can make my life feel so complete
It seems like a song, a symphony, a melody so sweet
Of all the people around, you’re the dearest one I found
You will always be special for me

Only you my friend can make my day feel bright and clear
Every moment’s filled with happiness as long as you’re near
When I happen to fall, you are there each time I call
You’re the most important one of all.

Chorus:

Nothing else is greater than the friendship that we have
You mean everything to me
I can never pretend, that I’ll love you till the end
But I’ll remember you, my whole life through.
(I’ll remember you, I’ll remember you
I’ll remember you my whole life thru)

It makes such a difference when it’s you who gives his smile
You would make me feel much better in just awhile
And when you got up I shall look behind
And memories of my mind
I will never find anyone like you (Chorus)

One Last Hug

I visited my dad's grave this high noon. I've been wanting to visit him few weeks ago but due to time constraint and health reason I was not able to do so. Before I went there, I visited a church first, offered a prayer and lit a candle. It's one of the things that I wanted to do, too. The church was ran by nuns and the place was very solemn, good for contemplating because it's not situated at the heart of the city. The time was already 11:00 am and my heart was racing when I thought of visiting my dad. My dad's grave was at the opposite side of the church where I was praying. But I badly wanna "see" my dad. I brought the car with me anyway. So, after I said my prayer, I drove the car and hurried to go the 'garden'.

It was very hot when I arrived because of the traffic. I don't even mind the noisy planes arriving and departing. Being with my dad was all that matters. I stood there, feeling alone and very much missing him. I wish he was physically present and feel his one last hug. And without knowing it, I was crying uncontrollably. All the while I thought I was okay. For the past few weeks/days, I've managed to be ok. But I've realized I was just a great pretender. I was not okay at all and I wanted badly for someone to hear me out - that would've been my dad. I know I am also surrounded with people that I could rely on, but I ended up being misinterpreted. A good cry and hearing me out with my woes are probably the things that would ease me out, without someone criticizing me especially when I am this fragile.

Flash back:

My dad was still alive when one time I was feeling down. We talked over the phone (long-distance) and I suddenly cried so hard. I didn't give him my explanation of crying because I didn't know what I was crying about. I think I had a crisis unresolved then. He told me to talk to my mom. I would love, too, but most of the time, we ended up arguing. As I've said, I'm always misinterpreted. I just want somebody to listen and not to look at my flaws. Sure, I'm not perfect and I hated myself for being defensive in the end. Anyway, I ended up drinking the whole grande of beer that night and woke up so groggy and nauseated, to think I still have to go to work that day....

After a few days, my dad was back at home. He didn't ask further what had happened instead he showed me something. He told me to take good care of it. It was an acoustic guitar and until now, it's still with me, still good as new. Too bad I'm not a good guitar player like my brothers but at least I knew how to strum and read the chords. But my dad knew how to lighten me up. I smiled that day...

Flash back more than 8 years ago:

My dad was dying. He used to be huge but at that time, he was so skinny already. He talked to me and then we hugged for a very long time. I could almost feel his bone that I was afraid I might break it. But I love that man so much, he was my dad and not even the smell of his metastasize cancer cells would hinder me from hugging him. It was our one last hug and I cried so much that day because I knew I would be missing him. I've accepted his fate but the thought of not seeing him anymore would really break my heart.

Today:

I was reminded of all those things while I poured my heart out. I want his one last hug again. I even wished he would appear in front of me but it didn't happen. I just felt a strong wind while I was sobbing and wiping my eyes and nose. I didn't mind if some people saw me there. I had a deep 'talk' with my dad. When my dad died, I appreciated the beauty of death. However, this noon, I thought about it but told myself I wasn't ready yet. I have a young child and I want her to know her mommy very well. I want her to experience having a parent while growing up. I ended up praying to God and to my dad that, 'Not now', and I giggled afterward. The thought of my daughter told me to go home already. But if I have nothing else to think, guess I would have lasted the whole day staying at my dad's grave.

As I drove home, I was reminded of Luther Vandross' Dance with my Father that has a very meaningful lyric:

"If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him
I'd play a song that would never, ever end
How I'd love, love, love to dance with my father again"

Now, guess I can say I'm okay. A good cry is what I need. I always find solace when I visit his grave but I also promised my dad that I will be smiling the next time I am going to visit him.

Midnight Blues

It's almost 2 a.m. yet I'm still here wide awake. I'm tired but my body is not retreating to bed. Got so much to write in my blog but I'm in no mood to publish it now. Ok, next time, I promise...

Even in my personal life, I have no time to socialize right now even though I wanted to. I'll just wait for my friend to arrive from Canada, then I'll have a grand time partying, hehe... I'm not trying to be a hermit... I'm just conserving my energy (I guess :D). I don't want to overdo things that will make me sick again, to think I've got loads of things to do.

Anyhoo, I think I'm going to force myself to sleep now. Hope counting sheep up to 100 will help - or perhaps I will let my imagination bring me to fairyland until I doze off...

Annoying Neighbor

We have a very annoying neighbor. They live right next door. During midnight, you can hear a lot of shouting, screaming, squabbling and I dunno exactly what was going on. It's really the opposite during daytime as I would find them very discreet... as if trying to shun away from the owner of the house whom they owed 6-months-worth of rental payment (and counting...).

What's annoying also is that whenever I chanced to see them or if they happened to be around during the broad daylight and not able to get inside their house, they kept on banging the roof outside (using their umbrella) - creating such a noise! Why can't they just put a doorbell on their house?!

The owner of the apartment is my FIL. He is nice to them but this neighbor of ours was abusing his kindness. Other neighbors in our vicinity are criticizing them, too. Well, if they don't want to be discriminated (like they claimed to be), they should also do something about it rather than tainting their race (or whatever they call it) with such an image.

Doctor, I'm Not Sick?

I was kinda getting paranoid last week. I wasn't feeling very well, not that I was sick but I experienced some discomfort in my body. I'm not really a hypochondriac type of person.. I believe I don't have a conversion personality disorder but knowing something was not right somehow made me a little panicky...

So, I went to see a gynecologist, a gastroenterologist and by this week I am going to have a urine and ultrasound tests. I was thinking of seeing a neurologist, too, but I don't see any significance - although I experienced migraine from time to time...

Anyways, I've to do this (seeing doctors) to give me a peace of mind. The OB-gyne asked me to come back later this week and I hope the result of my pap-smear is alright (negative). Actually, it was also my fault of not having this test ever since. Married couple or those sexually-active people out there should have this test yearly. I know it's so ironic on my part that being even in the medical field, I neglected this for a stupid reason or am just being irresponsible. I plan to do this yearly starting - this year ;-)

Gastro doc asked me if I was under stressed lately - and ya-ah! I was, I am and still will be, whew! He just laughed and told me that it was unlikely for my age to contract such illness that I was kinda imagining. I got relieved after that.

Well, I'll just try to think positive and hope my other tests will have a normal result. Honestly, I'm trying my best to be calmed and tried to break through however, I break out most of the time. Perhaps I need to go on a retreat to spend time with Him. I think I need that for I feel so lost these days. Hope to be guided to the right path again.....

Life is a Journey

Today's my dad's birthday. He would've turned 61 had he lived long enough. But he died early - at age 51. Terrible illness caught him, it was the Big C and he was the 1st in his family to have it. Sometimes, I thought about how short his life was. Such a waste for dying so young and even not see the fruits of his labor. You see, he was a workaholic and when he had that disease, it was then that he decided to retire. He wasn't able to enjoy his retirement, he wasn't able to see me and my siblings walked down the aisle and he did not even see his grandchildren.

But of course, we cannot predict the future. No matter how careful we would be, we don't know exactly what will happen to us. Best thing we need to do is Pray.

Anyway, going back to my dad, I miss him terribly. Although I have accepted his death wholeheartedly, I can't help but think at times how our life would be right now if he were alive. Many times, I've dreamed about him and he was even in good condition. It made me smile even when I woke up.

Despite the ordeal that my family went thru at that time of his illness, I was just too glad that God made each and everyone of us strong. Our faith was tested but my family remained strong. I asked the Lord that when He would take my dad away, be sure that I would be around to take care of him up to his last breath.. and that really happened. I even appreciated the beauty of death at that time. Maybe because I was prepared. It would be painful to see your loved one died but it was more painful to see him suffering and experiencing excruciating pain. But when his time was up, I thanked the Lord for everything, for allowing me and my family to serve my dad while he was still alive and for letting me understand about life. I've realized that life was like a journey. And that we have to make the most out of it but we must also try to live according to His will.

This afternoon we went to visit my dad at the cemetery despite the heavy rain. My mom, my brothers, our spouses & our kids were there. We may not be able to see and feel him but I'd like to think he's happy to see us. Well Dad, Happy - supposedly your - 61st Birthday. I could never forget the word you said before you left - "Always remember that you're here in my heart". And you are, too, forever in our hearts...
